I'm using Jasc PSP7 instead of Photoshop, so the process I used to do this is probably slightly different than the rest of the class would. I chose my pictures, then created the crescent selection and cut it from the "morning" picture. I then added two more layers behind my "morning" layer. In the furthest one I pasted the "night" version and aligned it to match with the front. In the middle layer, I altered the selection to be about 20 pixels smaller all around. After that, I inverted the selection and pasted yellow into everything but the crescent. Voila! It turned out much better than I first anticipated, mostly because I didn't know if the pictures would line up properly.
if you would have made the moon a little bit smaller, it would have looked like a painting on the side of the building!
ReplyDeletegood job though!
That looks pretty cool! Is JASC PSP7 the same as Photoshop or is it a different company? I've never heard of it before.
ReplyDeleteIt's a completely different company, it's another high-end graphics program, but not quite as nice as Photoshop.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool photo. It does look like a painting of a moon on the side of a building. Guess you could do this to see if you wanted a certain item painted before you paint it. So many uses for this.
ReplyDeleteI really like this. They are right when they say that about the moon looking like it could be a painting. Way cool :) I just love anything that has to do with the moon. The moon itself is just so big and beautiful!!
